A Roswell writers group scheduled to convene for the first meeting this Thursday night. Local cultural page notes the gathering aims to foster regional literary collaboration and support among aspiring authors.
Reagan apologized in person after a White House tour mixup that canceled access for 1,200 International Federation of Business and Professional Women members. ENMU Roswell and its five phase $18 million building program were reviewed by the BEF subcommittee in Roswell. Phase I construction runs to January 1984, Phase II seeks a new administration building and student services center with an outdoor Oilfield Training Center project funded at $600,000, and Phase III proposes a 42346 square foot physical education complex costing over $3.2 million. Completion of all phases is targeted for 1987 or 1988.
AT&T chairman Charles L. Brown said the company would give up future use of the Bell System name and accept other conditions on patent rights as required by U.S. District Judge Harold H. Greene, ending nine years of antitrust litigation.
