City Council votes to reorganize the fire department

The city council in regular session in the new room at the rear of the First National Bank debated reorganizing the fire department. The committee urged abolishing the engineer post, hiring a volunteer assistant, and reshaping leadership while warning against salaried positions. Fairbanks Notified for Vice Presidency by Republican Convention
