Burson Captures Grand Champion in Breeding Heifer
Jessica Burson, 19, won Grand Champion in breeding heifer at the Chaves County Fair on Thursday after earlier taking Grand Champion in the lamb competition. Burson is listed as daughter of Cody and Cheri Burson, a Goddard FFA member and Farm Buddies 4H participant. She credits Lowline heifer interest to friend Courteney Walker, part of a Houston show network seen as a second family. Burson plans to show Lucy, her prize-winning Lowline Angus heifer, in future events as nine entries competed in Hereford and Lowline classes. Justin Armstrong won Hereford. Burson claimed Class 3. Walker won Class 4.
