Miss Charlotte Nicholas Weds H R Bishop in La Luz New Mexico

Miss Charlotte Nicholas married H R Bishop yesterday afternoon at the Osborne Wood home in La Luz New Mexico. The ceremony was on a rose bloom patio with no attendants and a buffet reception served to guests including Edward Nicholas of Roswell.

Patriotic Program Sent Off By Washington Avenue P.T.A

The Washington Avenue P. T. A. held a yesterday afternoon meeting at the school with Mrs. J. F. White Jr. presiding. Miss Jennie Kenney directed the children in a patriotic program featuring a Red Cross segment and a pledge led by Jackie Shelton.

Dick Callens Weds Miss Louise Yater in Big Spring

Miss Louise Yater of Big Spring and Dick Callens of Roswell were married Sunday afternoon April 26 at 3 o clock in the Church of Christ Big Spring. Rev Byron Fullerton officiated in the presence of family and friends. The bride wore a navy suit with white trim and carried white carnations. Yater, daughter of Mr and Mrs W M Yater, graduated in 1940 and worked at Walgreen drug store. Callens, son of Mrs W L Callens, graduated in 1931 and is manager of the Roswell Municipal Airport. The couple will reside at 911 West Alameda Street.

Adjutant Humphries Speaks At Supper

Adjutant Humphries of the American Legion spoke at a joint Legion and Auxiliary meeting at Ingalls Memorial Home. About one hundred members attended as a spring bouquet decor created a V for Victory display. Auxiliary members will pack candy and cookie boxes for husbands and sons in service Friday. Dr. C. R. Covington was named local Legion Commander and Mrs. Joplin was guest Auxiliary president. Guy Wicker retired as Legion Commander thanked members and introduced the speaker. Dancing followed with the Richardson orchestra.

Girl Scout Luncheon Honors Miss Mae Crysler and Council Meeting

The United Rural Club met all day at K P Hall with Mrs. John M. Rose as hostess. Elected officers included Mrs. E L Lusk president and Mrs. W A McCloud secretary treasurer. A luncheon at The Poplars honored Miss Mae Crysler, regional Girl Scout representative, with floral centerpieces and a guest list of council members and spouses.
