Dailey Named District Judge Second District

Trott gets life sentence in habitual criminal case

George S. Trott pleaded guilty to a habitual criminal charge and received a life sentence from Judge James B. McGhee for a fourth felony, larceny from the Horace Britton home in Roswell. Jose Espinosa also pleaded guilty to automobile tire theft and drew a 2 to 3 year term after a rape conviction was set aside. The April term closed with these sentences.

Charges Dismissed Against Mrs Gomez in Liquor Sale Cases

Judge McGhee dismissed two liquor sale charges against Mrs Vidal Gomez after ruling the Lane Law required proof of knowingly selling to a minor or student, a standard changed by a later legislature. Washington April 30 AP reports NRA proposes a 10 percent cut in working hours while boosting wages by 2. The Durable Goods Industries Committee lambasted the plan saying further general wage increases now would hinder recovery and opposes blanket wage hikes or code hour reductions by executive order.

The April patrol report shows 431.50 in fines assessed and 2020 collected and turned over to the city. A large portion of those fined could not pay and were sent to jail to lay out their fines.
