Southwest Looks Like Future Industrial Center to Science

Dr. Gerald Wendt told the Knife and Fork Club that the Southwest may become a future industrial region as atomic energy offers cheap power. He proposed industrial centers rising in the Southwest with farming on remaining productive land and water focused on population rather than agriculture. He noted current high production costs for atomic energy versus coal and natural gas, and cited Britain aiming for half its power from uranium by 1975. He also touched on U235 U238 interactions and praised Russian scientists, with further remarks on page 15.
