Roswell Doctor Named 2012 Paul Ré Peace Prize Honoree
UNM alumnus Dr Steven M Cobb shared the 2012 Paul Ré Peace Prize with two co winners and four honorable mentions awarded at a Zimmerman Library reception on UNM campus in Albuquerque. The award honors contributions to peace and harmony across the world. The recipients include William M Brown of Sage West Consultants Arroyo Hondo and the Peace Talks Radio Production Team of Albuquerque for environmental and peace education work.

NM Search and Rescue Council to host conference
The New Mexico Search and Rescue Council will host ESCAPE an Emergency Services Annual Preparedness Event May 4-6 at Buffalo Thunder Resort Pojoaque. Over 200 volunteers from NM AZ CO and TX will train in 60 plus courses with 40 instructors. Special guest Secretary Gordon E Eden Jr. will give the keynote.

Fashion Show Walk for Hope fundraiser "Spring in Paris"
A fashion show fundraiser called Walk for Hope titled Spring in Paris will be held this Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Villa del Rey, 2801 N Kentucky Ave, with refreshments, door prizes, and $10 tickets available at the door or in advance through Nancy Toth. Proceeds benefit the Chaves County Cancer Fund assisting residents through cancer treatment.
