Overpass safety tests at New Mexico Military Institute

Episcopal Registration Nears 300 At New Mexico Diocese Meet

The 15th Annual Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of New Mexico and Southwest Texas opened with a Roswell supper for visiting clergy. Registration stood at 275 at 8 am and was expected to top 300 by noon. The gathering includes joint sessions of diocese and church women, with the banquet at Roswell Inn featuring Rev. John W. Firefighters battle 2500 acre Lincoln National Forest blaze

One Known Survivor In Nantucket Air Crash

An Air Force four engine radar plane crashed into the Atlantic near Nantucket with 16 aboard. only one survivor, navigator Lt. Joseph L. H. Guenet of Montreal, was rescued in fair condition. Pilot Col. James P. Lyle is credited with a last minute water ditching to spare the town. An eight man board investigates the crash as oil slicks spread over a half mile square.
