Dr. Gentry testified about strychnine tonic and its small dinine content, shedding light on Col Swope’s habit. The body of the victim remains under inquest with findings pending tomorrow.

Tragedy On Tracks: S. B. Rose Crushed by Train
S. B. Rose, 65, long-time worker at South Spring Ranch, was killed when a cattle train struck him near the southeast city line last night. Witnesses saw him stagger along the track around eight. his body was found between ten and eleven. An inquest, postponed until morning, will review his trunk at South Spring for relation clues. Rose was a former Texas Ranger and claimed kinship to the outlaw "Billy the Kid."

Eugene Hayes a wealthy southwest cattleman died in Elgin Kansas on April 23 from gunshot wounds suffered April ninth near Pawhuska Oklahoma. He had been indicted in Kansas City for killing his business partner Edward Hayes in a hotel last September. Edward and Amos Hayes were half brothers. Eugene Hayes was not related.
