Los Pinos and Black Lake Fires Burn Near Tres Piedras and Angel Fire
Terri Wildermuth of the State Forestry Division says the 50 acre Los Pinos Fire started Tuesday near Tres Piedras and spilled into the Cibola National Forest with no homes at risk. Air tankers and four 20 person crews joined the effort. The 20 acre Black Lake Fire southeast of Angel Fire was fed by volunteer departments and a Philmont Scout Ranch engine with three homes once threatened. Authorities suspect a power line may have sparked the blazes and the fires remain under investigation.
