Campbell to speak at Roswell development group meeting

Former New Mexico governor Jack M. Campbell returns to Roswell for the Roswell Chamber of Development and Commerce annual meeting at the Roswell Inn. He will discuss Roswell past and future industrial development and recovery, with honors to Presidents Club members and the Industry of the Year award to be announced. Tickets are $5.

Nixon seeks 5.18 billion in foreign aid for Middle East and Indochina

President Nixon asks Congress for 5.18 billion in foreign aid for fiscal 1977 including 250 million for Egypt to clear the Suez Canal and rebuild cities, 350 million for Israel, 207.5 million for Jordan, and 939.8 million for South Vietnam Cambodia and Laos to shift their economies from war to peace. The package includes a 100 million Mideast fund for peacekeeping and refugee aid. no Syria aid is requested.

Roswell School Board Eyes $100000 Footing Upgrade

Hobbs High AD Gene Wells Recovering After Heart Attack

Hobbs New Mexico athletic director Gene Wells suffered a heart attack while at a Lovington track meet. He was treated at Lea General Hospital and moved to Hobbs hospital cardiac care unit. Wells is father to Craig Wells of Roswell, an assistant varsity coach at Goddard. In Washington the Senate Democratic conference voted unanimously to seek extension of standby wage price controls.

UNM to Name Business School for Oilman Robert O Anderson

The Robert O. Anderson School of Business and Administrative Sciences at the University of New Mexico will be the first division named for an individual. UNM President Ferrel Heady and the Board of Regents announced the honor to Roswell oilman Robert O Anderson, board chairman of Atlantic Richfield Co. The school is dedicated May 3 while Anderson serves as executive in residence.
