At the New Mexico Military Institute field east of Pearson Auditorium the Valley Vintage Motorcar Club held its sixth auto show. 36 categories ranged from Brass Ts to street rods with 1st and 2nd place trophies and three special awards including Mayor’s, General’s and People’s Choice. Model A Ford owner Gilbert Licon, 31, said his restored 1929 car is worth about 20 000 dollars on the West Coast after a 12 000 dollar restoration, while C D McLaughlin’s 1926 Chrysler sits awaiting a buyer and is valued at around 3 500 dollars but could rise with work.

Ex Roswell Mayor Brainerd Seeks NM Senate Seat
