Roswell team won the game delivering a shutout on Thursday. The win highlights strong defense and effective offense against their opponents.
Amarillo defeated Roswell 6 to 0 at Amusement Park securing a win after three straight losses. Weber pitched seven strikeouts and five hits while Roswell errors spiked in the eighth as Amarillo surged with timely hits and double plays.
In the special riding contest at the fair grounds on Thursday afternoon Cary Johnson won first prize with eight rings, a pair of spurs and $12.50, Amos Ross took second with seven rings, a pair of spurs and $7.50, and T. T. Loveless placed third with six rings, a fancy bridle and $4.50. Ten entries competed for a maximum score of fifteen rings.
The sale of thoroughbred cattle during the convention was well attended the last day yesterday. The average price per head was 65 dollars, and 128 cattle were sold. Buyers are busy today preparing stock for license and securing pedigrees.
Mrs. J D Macklin 40 died at her home 404 N Lea Ave after an eleven week tuberculosis illness. She came with her husband and four children from Garnet Kansas a year ago and was active in the Methodist church Royal Neighbors and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen auxiliary. Remains held pending word from relatives. In Wyoming district Methodist churches will observe San Francisco Day with special collections to aid rebuilding in San Francisco.

Miss Helen Cooper a lyric soprano and Miss Elizabeth Garrett a pianiste both of El Paso will give an entertainment at the Pleat chur en at eight o'clock next Monday night having been induced to do so by their many friends in this city They have given concerts in Pecos Carlsbad and Artesia on their way here and the best recommendation is that all these places want return dates when they start home The Monday night concert will be a treat for Roswell music lovers.

Mrs A E Crow aged 23 died Tuesday morning of tuberculosis at Spring River Sanitarium. Her body shipped from Dilley undertaking rooms to Uniontown Pennsylvania, where her husband awaited. She came here three months ago, married last June, and her brother and parents arrived to accompany the body home.
