Senate weighing cash infusion to save ailing Postal Service
The Senate debates a bill to stabilize the Postal Service with about 11 billion in funds while delaying broad closings and keeping overnight delivery possible for years. The plan would cap closures, require two year delay on five day delivery, and fund buyouts for up to 100000 workers while reevaluating rural service needs.
