City gears up for a meter repair job

Garrett enters race for Chaves County treasurer post

Henry Garrett, a Democrat, announced his bid for Chaves County treasurer and will face Sam S. Sloan in the June 3 primary. Incumbent L. M. Hall is the Republican candidate. Garrett, 59, resident of Roswell 27 years, served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force and has worked in insurance and financial services with The Hartford. He has led local Democratic and Kiwanis groups and and lives with his wife Jane on Fulkerson Drive.

Bus Driver Attacks City Street Killing Woman and Injuring Four
