The Mississippi flood spreads through Minnesota Wisconsin and other states with 31 000 people evacuated as waters race toward a record crest. Death toll rises across Indiana Ohio Michigan Illinois and Wisconsin with hundreds displaced and ongoing rescue efforts.
President Johnson and British Prime Minister Harold Wilson held an cordial and fruitful discussion briefing reporters. The talks ranged over many subjects including Viet Nam with Wilson agreeing with Johnson's statements.
