County water franchise seen fair by officials
A county Engineering Department plan to curb expansion of the Berrendo Water Users Association system is considered fair by FmHA official Richard Floyd and Raynes West. The plan would place controls in a water franchise sought from the county as part of a $1.35 million loan and $650,000 grant approved for system expansion. The County Commission may approve the franchise at its April 19 meeting, enabling growth from 354 to over 600 customers once Phase 1 is completed.
