Transitional home opens to aid recovery in Roswell

The Harvest House, a Salvation Army project in Roswell, is a new $190000, single story facility on the organization's property in northwest Roswell. It shelters up to four local men who completed a six month Albuquerque rehab program, aiming to prevent relapse by providing a safe supportive environment. Lt. Joe West and Lt. Amber West spearhead the effort, inspired by a Phoenix model and responding to local graduates who return home to risky environments.

Roswell Symphony taps conductor with broad regional ties

Roswell's new conductor Farrer, educated at California State University and the University of Michigan, explains his interest sparked by the Roswell Symphony's strong reputation. He notes about 10 full-time U S orchestras exist, with roughly 1,200 regional or per service groups. The Roswell ensemble attracts musicians from Albuquerque El Paso and Amarillo, a rarity among such groups.
