Roswell records publish DWI arrests under a regional initiative with the Sheriff, State Police, and Roswell Police. Mark Jimenez, 24, of Roswell, was arrested April 6 by Roswell Police for DWI with no license and no proof of insurance. BrAC/BAC given.
New Mexico House Bill 192 allows cities to use lodger taxes to subsidize airline service or issue revenue bonds. Roswell, with county partners, signs a three year deal with American Airlines as it starts flights to and from Phoenix at Roswell International Air Center. The first flight ran March 2 with occupancy around 72 percent. subsidies apply if below 60 percent.
Scott Wrenn, 29, a five year RPD veteran, fired the fatal shot during the Guerin stand off outside 710 S Aspen Ave. Guerin 33 carried a shotgun and was warned 47 times to drop it before being shot. He died at a local hospital. The shooting is under a joint agency investigation by New Mexico State Police Chaves County Sheriff’s Office and RPD.
