Kids and Kows and More Highlights Local Ag Education
Southwest Daily sponsored Kids and Kows and More at the Eastern New Mexico State Fairgrounds. Andrea Stapp notes only about 2 percent of kids engage in farming daily, as Chaves County ranks third in state agri value with 339 million dollars produced in 2007. Over 1,000 students toured six stations teaching rural life and farm safety, including milking a cow and watching sheep shearing.
