Romo leaves Cowboys to join CBS in landmark move
Tony Romo announced his release from Dallas and a CBS deal on the same day, signaling the end of his 14 season with the Cowboys. He cited retirement as unlikely but anticipated an on air role while leaving the door open to none seeking a return. Romo, 37, joins CBS after Dak Prescott's rookie wave and a back injury plagued tenure, finishing with 34,183 passing yards and 248 touchdowns. He said he plans to work Thursday night and Sunday games and aims to be an effective analyst alongside CBS colleagues as he begins a new chapter.
