Moscow to Host 1960 Olympics Torch Route Details
Tass reports Leningrad engineers developed a wind and rain resistant two pound torch for the 1960 Moscow Games. Five thousand torches will cover the route from Greece to Moscow beginning June 18 1960 with the final runner arriving in Moscow a month later.
