Local Roywell Spelling Bee Decides Champion Friday
Elimination is the name of the game as Roywell crowns its city champion at 7 30 p m Friday in the Goddard High School Little Theater. Twenty contestants from local middle and elementary schools enter the 1974 citywide spelling bee with the winner advancing to the Regional Spelling Bee in El Paso Texas April 19 20. The top two spellers from middle schools plus the top two from fourth sixth grades qualified through earlier contests. Finalists include Pam Ross Connie Leaverton Courtney Cain Meg Malone and others with alternates listed.
