Canadian Heroes of September Air Raids Honored

In September eight years ago, RAF repelled a major Luftwaffe assault with an estimated 185 enemy aircraft destroyed. Between September 6 and October 5 Nazi raids killed or wounded over ten Canadians in Britain, as Lt J. M. S. Patton and Capt. D. W. Cunningham earned the first George Cross and George Medal for Canadian Army members.

School Capers and Community Activities

Burial Rites Held For Mrs Lorne Victor Lawless

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Lorne Victor Lawless were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. from Rossburn United Church with Rev. Murray officiating. Interment followed in the cemetery as Miss Margaret Taylor sang In The Homeland All Is Well. Lawless, in fair health until a few days before her sudden death, was admitted to Rossburn hospital the night before.
