Winnipeg Historical Society Tour of Seech Project

On Sunday September 17, 38 Winnipeg Historical Society members toured Seech Project sites starting at Menzie then Seech, the rebuilt Buddhas at Swystun's, and Mass Grave Site. The tour ended at Olha with a Ukrainian noon luncheon by Parkland Ukrainian Pioneer Association members.

Four H Members Attend Western Province Seminar Trip

Manitoba delegates join forty eight participants and six staff on a Cargill Grain sponsored week long Western Province Seminar tour. They travel by chartered buses to Camp Maskepetoon near Pigeon Lake then tour Rocky Mountain House and the Columbia Ice Fields while learning pioneer life and forestry resources from experts.

Rain Delays Harvest Again In Cool Week

Heavy rain began Monday morning and fell through the night ending hopes for resuming delayed harvests. Cool temperatures marked the past week and local gardeners boast oversized produce including a 2 lb 7 oz potato from Mrs. Pearl Pawluk and a 3 lb radish from Mrs. Mary Klym, inviting challengers.

Regular meeting of rural council Rossburn Sept 11 1978

The Rural Municipality of Rossburn held a regular meeting at 1 00 p m on Monday September 11 1978 in the Council Chambers. Reeve John Mitchell presided with Councillors Klym Peleshok Antonow and Dnistransky present. Motions approved included reading of prior minutes and August 1978 financial statements and the August 14 1978 Department of Highways equipment rental agreement for the municipality patrol at 19 60 per operating hour.

Angusville School dispute continues

The Angusville Elementary School parents press for a local school within Pelly Trail School Division as buses are canceled and teachers hold students at the Community Centre. They cite local taxation and right to schooling, oppose sending kids to another school despite nearby options. The notice also mentions tax roll additions and a subdivision approval denial involving Rural Municipality of Ressburn and waste disposal considerations, with Mike Kurchaba named in relation to the subdivision matter.

Pelly Trail S D approves aid to Angusville private school

The Pelly Trail School Division held a Sept 13 special meeting with all trustees present. It learned of plans for a private school in Angusville and passed a resolution to provide free textbooks under provincial shared service legislation. It also unanimously recommended selling the Angusville School and property to the RM of Silver, subject to Public Schools Finance Board approval.

Recreation news invites more ladies to join volleyball team

The notice calls for more women to join the Ladies Volleyball Team to play Russell and seek league entry. Phone the Recreation Office at 859-2627 or drop in. Disco dance lessons continue at Rossburn Arena every Wednesday 7 00 to 9 00 pm cost 1 50 per person.
