OSHA Mr. John Storosuk of Leech learns his son Joe is missing in action. Mr. T. Kaskew’s son Kenneth is wounded in France. Wes Hnatin’s son Steve is wounded in action. Other home news from Jamaica include Pie. Mike Posmitiuk and Matt Solonynka, both of Leech. Pte Matt MacKasin of Courtney BC is on a six week farm leave at home. Mrs Jean McSymett of Ephinstone stays with sister Mrs Wm. Manduke. Elise and Olga Bulinski of Winnipeg holiday with mother Mrs Budinski. O M F G Wasylyshen of Halifax spent leave with in-laws Mr and Mrs R. Hutzal. His wife and son accompany him to Winnipeg. Mr and Mrs Steve Maydaniuk and family of Oakburn will move onto the farm purchased from P. Chran. Pte Peter Krysowaty left for Saskatchewan after two weeks furlough.

Lillian Kodleski returns to Grade 11 class in Winnipeg. Paul Grebba of Sheridan visits Syraks and returns to duties. Tom Worneski of Victoria BC spends furlough with his parents. Bill Pushka, recently treated at Winnipeg Sanatorium, returns home in improved health.
Mise Pauline rubenuk eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Ru enuk of Angusville united in marriage with Pte Henry Topolniski at United Church Manse Nanaimo BC on Sept 2 7 PM. The bride wore a blue Jean Burns Paris style two piece dress with blue feather purple veil and hat. Attendant Miss Nita Dmednes wore mauve dress with purple veil and hat. The couple’s attendants wore KC A 8C uniforms. A chicken dinner followed at Modern Cafe for the newlyweds and attendees.
