Senator Henry A. Mullins marked his ninetieth birthday at his Forest Hills home last month. He received congratulations from friends across various walks of life, recognizing his long service and career.
Farmers exploit ideal conditions to harvest a rich crop with Pete Melnyk and Sam Chicheluk delivering No. 2 northern wheat to local elevators. Barley shipments of 3 cw. 6-row arrive as crops ripen, though much remains too wet to thresh. Senator Mullins, a longtime rancher and former Canadian senator, is praised for roads and CN construction aiding Rossburn.
Premier Douglas Campbell explains federal and provincial changes to pensions for Manitobans 65 to 69 and 70 plus. The federal government will take over $40 per month pensions for those 70 and over from January 1 1952, with no means test, while existing pensioners keep their current status. New recipients 70+ must apply. For 65 to 69, the federal share is 50 percent of a $40 monthly pension, subject to a means test, with provincial payments bridging the rest.
On Friday September 14 fourteen men and six binders and tractors cut and partly stocked forty acres of oats and barley on Steve Barneski’s farm. Barneski is hospitalized in St Boniface with a serious back injury. Some women sent food and Mrs Fred Strileski helped with meals.
The Junior Ladies Aid held its annual meeting on September 11 at Mrs F Hodgkinson's home. Newly elected officers for the coming year are President Mrs F Hodgkinson, Vice President Mrs O Hodge, and Secretary-Treasurer Mrs Steven.
Maurice Dutchak and William Wladyka open the Rossburn quick freeze locker plant in the former municipal building bought from the R.M. of Rossburn. The facility houses 402 lockers with 200 currently in use, plus processing eligit curing retail and office space, while the second floor provides living quarters.
The notice lists additional donors not previously published including Roy Irwin, J. Von. Magen, Dune McKenzie, Trey Boo Pore Wee Sed, and J. N. Mandziuk for legal fees. Donations amount to twenty five dollars and other unspecified sums.
Gladys Semochka and Gordon Brown wed at First United Church Victoria on September 7 1951. Rev M Waters officiated. The bride wore nylon net with pearls and carried red roses and white carnations. A reception followed at Lougheads Banquet Hall and the couple planned a wedding trip through Manitoba Ontario and the USA.

Thursday gathering at Mrs. Walter Armstrong home honored Mrs. James D. Frith May with a purse of money. Mrs. H. McIntosh presented the gift as a lunch followed. Frith, visiting from Winnipeg, awaited moving into her new Oxbow Sask home after a Brandon trip with Williamsons.
