Health officials urge separation from crowds as Rossburn School closes for at least a week due to polio risk. Sunday services canceled. children urged to stay home and avoid crowds. parents advised to protect against illness with proper nutrition and rest.
Readers recall a historic storm tied to September 12 on 1903 with testimonies from C S Stevenson Wm Armstrong and others. Some recall 1902 1901 or 1908 as possible dates but the majority favor September 12 1903 and describe bear tracks and cattle losses.
The record asks who were the first baby born in Rossburn village and in the Rossburn Rural Municipality, notes the Presbyterian Church as the first church built there, and seeks the date and couple of Rossburn’s first wedding.
Manitoba oil output rose in July to 33 990 barrels from 27 387 in June. The Daly Field top producer was California Standard’s Daly Prov 4-12 with 2 231 barrels, followed by Canadian Superior Oil of California’s M 16-5 with 1 946 barrels, and wildcats contributed 1 472 barrels.

A reception followed in Oakburn then Rossburn with relatives and friends, after which the couple will live on the groom’s Rossburn farm.
Special services at St. Andrew's Vista and Knox Rossburn included baptism reception of new members and communion. Christening names at Vista were Sheila Anne Brown and Vonnie Darlene Chesney. at Rossburn were Rosslyn Taylor Gwendolyn Veitch Bryan Butler Janiehethe Cheryl Johnston. New members received include Harris Huston Ben Cormack Laverne Clubley Delroy Stitt Keith Stitt William Andrew and transfers Susan Alston Patricia Oates Robert Alexander Muriel Alexander Isobel Huston Mabel Elvers George Heindle. Attendance was 103 at Rossburn and 62 at Vista.
Mrs. J. S. Huston hosted a Monday tea gathering where six ladies shared the table. Their combined ages totaled 490 years, with no individual names disclosed to avoid guessing ages.
Joe Peden of Rossburn was among three people hurt when a bus carrying twenty rolled off a fifteen foot embankment at Pincher Creek Alberta. The driver allegedly left the vehicle as it rolled backward and Peden was thrown to the pavement while others, including two women, received hospital care. The crash happened around 4 a.m. during a trip to Vancouver for evangelistic meetings by Oral Roberts.
