Beekeeping runs in the Rae family in Manitoba
Bruce Rae of Rossburn Honey reports a 20 to 25 percent drop in honey production this summer due to cool wet weather. His family has long beekeeping history with 75 years combined experience, and he plans to expand to 500 hives while preparing for winter. Bears damaged 15 hives, electric fencing was used, and most work now focuses on prep for next year’s crop.
