Diamond Wedding Anniversary Celebrated
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stitt celebrated their 60th anniversary with an open house at home on September 3. The Queen's private secretary phoned condolences, and greetings came from Canadian figures and Manitoba leaders. Family from multiple cities attended, with many relatives present and a large group of friends. A lunch was served.

Kohuch Family Reunion at Cran dall Community Centre
Thirteen Kohuch siblings and relatives from Winnipeg and Ontario gathered August 4 1973 at Cran dall Community Centre for a long awaited family meal. The event included a buffet by Crandall U C W and community ladies, corsage for the grandmother, blessings, toasts, group photos, and evening entertainment by Stereo. Overnight guests numbered 32 at the Ariss home with Sunday visit to the old Mears farm and bonfire activities.

Premier Cabinet Meet Manitoba Chambers Directors in Russell
Premier Schreyer and the Provincial Cabinet will meet with Manitoba Chambers of Commerce directors in Russell on September 10 to discuss policy. David Coppleman says the talks on prices and living costs, wage controls, and the Farm Land Bank policy will shape the two day conference and rural development. Reunion Brings Family Together with Close Neighbors
A heartfelt reunion drew numerous Kohuch family members and longtime friends from Winnipeg Rossburn Crandall Petawawa Calgary Dryden and other places. Sixty two guests signed the book as relatives gathered for reminiscences and hope for a future gathering while some could not attend.

Obituary of John Andrew Lindsay at Rossburn United Church
Funeral services were held at Rossburn United Church for John Andrew Lindsay who died August 29 1973 at age 84. He was born April 19 1889 in Shelburne Ontario and lived in Rossburn since 1914 with Beaver Lumber Company. He served in WWI with the 16th Scottish Regt and rose to Legion member. Survived by wife Alice May Carson and seven children, thirteen grandchildren, three sisters, and predeceased daughter Eleanor. Rae's Funeral Home had care of arrangements.

August Weather Report Shows Warmth and Rain
August proved warmer and wetter than normal with a mean of 67.1 degrees. The month saw highs of 91 and lows of 41, 3.39 inches of rain, ten thunderstorms including two hail events, and a growing season total of 11.85 inches since April 1.
