Sunday evening Tom Charney checked his cattle herd north of his farm and heard a calf’s dying cry. Early Monday he and Crest found a half eaten calf, the other half hidden under leaves. They set a trap but the animal outsmarted them, finishing the calf. The question remains bear or timber wolf.

Area Hit By Severe Storm Shrugs Off Saturday’s Heat
