Harvesting At Standstill After Two Inches Of Rain

Two inches of rain fell in Rossburn from Friday evening to Sunday night halting harvesting. No grain has been combined since August 26 as a one inch downpour on August 27 delayed drying. South of Rossburn rainfall reached 3 to 4 inches. Rivers area endured almost six inches. A CNR train due at Rossburn Monday night was over two hours late due to a washout near Clanwilliam.

Monday Frost Damages Vine Crops

Frost Monday damaged cucumbers citron water melon and other vine crops early Tuesday morning with no obvious harm to other vegetables or crops.

Manitoba Tourism Set to Hit Historic Year

Manitoba’s tourist business looks to its biggest year on record as highway traffic entering Canada into Manitoba for the first seven months of 1952 rises 11.9 percent over the same period last year. The Bureau reports over 50 000 inquiries and July letters seeking fishing trips and vacations from across North America and beyond.

Three Vehicles Damaged In Saturday Night Mishap

A 1931 Chevrolet truck driven by Spencer Taylor scraped a 1946 Chevrolet driven by Jim Stitt and then hit a 1950 Austin car driven by Paul Kurchaba of Winnipeg. All three southbound on Mountain Avenue near Moffat's Drug Store about 11 15 p m Saturday. No injuries. Damages included fenders grills radiators and springs. some vehicles may be placed in pound due to lacking insurance. Details of the other weekend accident remain unavailable.

Hoodlums Damage Rossburn Memorial Arena Windows
