Waterlines Upgraded in Rossbury Under Grants
Streets in Rossbury will have water mains replaced with a 200,000 Canada Manitoba Infrastructure Program grant. Main Street from Pioneer Ave to Rossburn Collegiate and Victoria Ave West from the hall westward await replacement, Ernie Drozda Construction of Shoal Lake holds the tender and is performing the work. About one third of the old east mains remain. the rest will proceed as town funds or further grants permit.

MTS seeks rate hike for rural Manitoba customers
Manitoba Telecom Services proposes to raise rural residential rates by six dollars monthly over three years starting in 2002 as part of a response to the CRTC review of 1998 rules. Urban Brandon and Winnipeg rates would stay near current levels. A CRTC spokesman said a decision is expected in spring with an Ottawa hearing set for October 1.

Local Auxiliary to offer community birthday calendars
The Rossburn District Health Centre Auxiliary plans to sell 2002 Community Birthday Calendars with all proceeds funding hospital equipment. By mid-September residents and businesses will be contacted. orders taken by Sept 25 to assure Christmas delivery. Auxiliary begins its 52nd year and members meet Sept 10 at the Town office 10 a.m. to noon to collect packets.
