Prairie round up of early autumn stories
Prairie readers get a mixed bag from Manitoba and Saskatchewan towns. Highlights include 95-year-old Jane Flewitt's hot air balloon ride starting in Winnipeg and ending in Lorette, 94-year-old George Curtis aiding the Wheat Festival, and legislative moves leading to the Farmers Creditors Arrangement Act to help cash-strapped farmers. A monster claim in Lake St Martin is pictured as credible by locals, while Winkler plans a truckers barbecue to honor drivers. Local governance critiques, a rocky municipal dismissal case, and biking sidewalk debates plus kinetic energy musings round out the feature.
