UGG forecasts second best Prairie crop in 1983
United Grain Growers projects 1983 Prairie crop at 42.4 million tonnes, under 1982’s 46.7 and just above 1981’s 42.1. Wheat output expected at 25.6 million tonnes, down from last year’s 27.125. Barley, oats, canola, and other grains are forecast lower, with yields per acre dropping from 1982 levels. Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba totals are provided with province names and tonnage.

Rossburn District Health Centre Auxiliary organizes the Rossburn event inviting all to run walk or jog to keep Terry Fox’s dream alive and support cancer research. Since 1980 Canadians have contributed about 6 million dollars to cancer research with 26 million allocated to various programs and grants including University of Western Ontario Manitoba Cancer Treatment & Research Foundation training centers and the University of Manitoba special funds.
