UGG forecasts second best Prairie crop in 1983
United Grain Growers projects 1983 Prairie crop at 42.4 million tonnes, under 1982’s 46.7 and just above 1981’s 42.1. Wheat output expected at 25.6 million tonnes, down from last year’s 27.125. Barley, oats, canola, and other grains are forecast lower, with yields per acre dropping from 1982 levels. Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba totals are provided with province names and tonnage.
