Sitko Defeats Mitchell to Become New Reeve in Rossburn
In the Rural Municipality of Rossburn on Oct 25, Leonard Sitko defeated incumbent reeve John Mitchell and challenger Jack Klym to become the new reeve. Sitko led Ward 1 with 374 votes of 614 cast, while Mitchell had 224 and Klym 16. A judicial recount was sought in Ward 1 to resolve a 89-89 tie between incumbent Ernie Drul and Dwain Lawless. Ward results: Sawchuk over Kostesky 89-37, Maryniuk over Borowski 102-72, Muchasin over Unrau 94-42. Turnout ranged 73% in each ward. The three-year term ends Oct 1992.
