Paddy Plante home from Shoal Lake hospital after appendicitis. Pte and Mrs John Elvers of Portage visited over the weekend. Mike Sotas on leave in Toronto spent time with ill brother Paul. We extend sympathy and speedy recovery wishes.
Vista residents report furloughs and home visits as several servicemen arrive home on leave. Gordon Velntyre of Vernon BC returns, Sgt. J Vienzies and UAL Wingert of the RCF, plus Pete Belinzky of Portage are listed among those on weak-ern leave. Mr Fred Zeucheshia travels to Montreal, the Meeks drive to Saskatchewan, and Neil McPhail and Archie visit their father Hector McPhail. Dr Kippon and Mrs Dpper visit Vista on Sunday.
Nellie Crerar died at her daughter’s home in Rossburn on Monday night October 19. Born January 9 1868 in Wisconsin she moved with her family to North Dakota then to Alberta and Manitoba. She married James Crerar in 1892 and lived in Larimore Binscarth Russell and Augusville districts. Funeral held October 22 at Knox United Church Binscarth with burial in Binscarth cemetery.
