Village Council Revises Assessment and Addresses Water Debt
In Rossburn the Court of Revision met October 11 to revise the 1980 General and Business Assessment Rolls. Complaints reduced dwelling assessment. two building assessments sustained. Council planned debenture for sewer and water extensions and approved participation in Rossburn District Recreation for twelve months with a 1300 contribution and a 3.6 mill levy to cover arena deficit. Weather pattern steady with light snow and rain recap
The past week showed normal winter conditions with heavy rain on Friday night yielding about half an inch of moisture. Saturday brought light snow and a reminder that winter is approaching as temperatures remained in a typical range for the period.
Rossburn Nursery School enrollment reaches new high
The Rossburn Nursery School reports record enrollment for 1979-80 with fifteen four year-olds and six three-year-olds. The AGM at Rossburn Elementary Library discussed finances, fundraising, equipment and stability, and elected officers: President Marie Plaisier, Vice President Janette Huston, Secretary Linda Ryshytylo, Treasurer Sylvia Swereda, Public Relations Diane Lawless, and Past President Mary Procyk.
