Voters in the Village of Rossburn face two by law questions on Friday October 24. No councillor or school trustee elections are held but a liquor referendum and a Rest Room and Fire Hall by law will be decided. Voters urged to cast ballots and participate.
A Sunday Oct shower at the Oakburn Ukrainian Nat Home honored bride elect Diana Tutkaluk. Olga Migas gave a corsage, Diana and guests presented corsages to her mother Mrs. Mike Tutkaluk and grandmother Mrs. Mike Yanick. Gifts were opened, Diana spoke, and guests sang For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow before a luncheon.
The Hospital Aid with local and external supporters plans to buy an electrocardiograph for the hospital. Trained technicians operate it and most readings are readable by local doctors, with graphs sent to a Winnipeg specialist for a second opinion to improve diagnosis and treatment.
The Vista W.1 group hosted a Grandmother's Tea with 27 grandmothers present. Mrs. Forde gave an engaging summary of Vista's history for her forthcoming book, and Mrs. MacPhail presented a gift. Loretta Hrysak played piano as antiques were displayed and a lunch followed, with the next annual meeting set for Nov 8 at 2 p.m. at Mrs. Baker's home with guest Mrs. Van Drecht.
Rossburn Student Council hosts a Red Cross Tea on November 1 inviting parents to meet teachers. The event doubles as a teachers tea. Beginners this year total 21, a potential record. The school notes condolences to the Carson family for a recent bereavement.
A double ring ceremony was held October 11 at 2 30 p m in St Vladimir and Olga Greek Catholic church Angusville when Margaret Agnes Shewchuk daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Shewchuk wed Harvey Henry Katchin son of Mr and Mrs John Katchin Angusville Rev Father Mike officiated The couple were attended by five bridesmaids and two flower girls The reception followed at the Oakburn National Home with a toast and supper receipt on the young couple

About 50 MFU officials from Districts 3 and 4 met in Minnedosa on October 16 to plan National Farmers Union Week. Manitoba and western provinces coordinated advertising while districts promote farm organization through posters papers radio and TV. Brandon banquet October 15 featured speakers from Brandon Chamber of Commerce and Brandon Sun with 150 attendees.
The Review records the death of Bob Carson on Wednesday October 22 in Rossburn Hospital at age 70 years 11 months. The funeral is set for Saturday October 25 at 2 30 p.m. in the Rossburn United Church with interment in Rossburn Cemetery.
Rossburn chamber members are urged to attend the meeting on Monday October 27 at 8 p.m. in the Rossburn Town Hall to discuss community matters and updates.
