Bobby Crookshanks and Charlie Miller motored to Flon Flin on Miss Stella Kowalchuk RN. of Sandy Lake is employed in Ross burn Hospital Mrs. J Nechweduik RR N of Sandy Lake has been relieving Miss Scollie at Rossburn Hospital. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Thompson whose brother passed away Tuesday morning at the Coast.

Convention Held At Erickson

The Manitoba Ontario District Lathor League held its convention in Erickson October 12 to 14 1966 with delegates from Winnipeg Norman and Kenora. The theme was The Increasing Christ and sessions included Bible study poetry readings and fellowship led by Rev Lundmark Rev Wedell and others. A Saturday morning business meeting elected a new executive: President Allan Southerland Vice President Greta Neilson Secretary Ruth Dunfar Statistician Elenor Petersen Devotional Secretary Murray Bergman.

A surprise gathering at the home of Mr and Mrs W Shaw in Brandon honored their 25th wedding anniversary. Relatives and friends joined on Sunday October 14. Mrs Albert Roney of Brandon made the cake. A buffet lunch followed and the couple received a silver tea service and matching tray.

Shower honors Verna Yanick in Oakburn

A parish hall shower on Sunday October 14 honored Miss Verna Yanick bride elect for October 25. Her mother Mrs Andrew Yanick and groom’s mother Mrs Michael Juba Rossburn led her to a decorated chair as corsages were presented. Pink and white streamers and white bells adorned the room. Gifts were displayed and Verna thanked guests before a light lunch.
