A poem celebrates autumn colors across Birdtail Valley with Joseph’s cloak imagery and Frost tinted foliage. Also noted are a 23rd wedding anniversary gift, a October 6 wedding of Harvey and a Oct 7 visit at Raginski home, with Ken Garret speaking for the group.
On Tuesday Rossburn nomination day drew almost no crowd as councils tackle local issues. Village nominations included Mike Antonin Mike Tokar and Harry Verbowski with Tokar withdrawing. School trustee saw Wally Perchaluk acclaimed replacing Haris Huston while R N Hutton remains unfilled. Ward 2- Bi Sill Hyre and Adolph Kostesky contend. Ward 4 sees Mike Baubie acclaimed.
Mrs. Nick Chopp visits Winnipeg relatives while Hon. Stuart Garson meets the Review Office. Danyieyko and Kalyniuk families host gatherings. Ken Garret plans to move to California. Sale dates announced: October 12 Tom Ewashko, October 15 Frank Rudnick, October 18 Metro Work, October 20 Donald Topelnisky, October 22 Mike Matiation, October 24 Nettie Borodie, with Michael J. Kustiak as auctioneer.

Waytowich of 758 Tenth Street for a stunning garden noted as the “Dream Home.” The piece describes a glassed veranda, blooming plants, rambling variegated geraniums, fuchsias, and a model kitchen garden while highlighting her care for eight boarders.
Erie Maduke of Rosetown Sask spent the weekend with his parents Mr and Mrs Peter K Maduke. Mr and Mrs John Sajin of Jasper Alberta visited with the latter's parents Mr and Mrs M B Wasilka. Mr and Mrs George Wight return to Rossburn as Birdtail W I prepares a Bazaar and Tea for October 20 at the United Church Annex. The W I met at Mrs M Hrubeniuks home on Thursday with Mrs D Maxwell winning the jackpot. Vivian Ruth Plant of Winnipeg visited over the weekend while Hilary Alston and Diane Maxwell connected last Friday. Bert Barclay and Sheila of Rivers joined A Joiner and R Veitch over the long weekend.

A long list of local residents hosted weekend visitors from Winnipeg Belmont Belmont Warren B.C. Regina Regina Churchbridge Camp Shilo Oak Lake Shoal Lake and Yorkton. Names include Nadya Nahirniak in Winnipeg with parents Mr and Mrs John Nahirniak and Evangeline Karmazenuk with Bery Scarfe.
The RM of Rossburn council met Saturday in the Municipal Office with Reeve presiding and all councillors present. Minutes adopted, financial report confirmed, and one Municipal Aid request granted. A by law approved to renew Olha Street lighting with the Hyde commission and by law renewals for election received approval.
The report thanks numerous ladies for sewing and knitting shipments from Winnipeg and notes aim to finish and ship by October end. It lists families aided by the Red Cross since the committee took office and mentions loaned hospital beds and a wheelchair. Mrs Viola Stitt signs as Work Committee Convenor.
A farewell dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chap Cummings in Brandon on September 30 for Sgt. and Mrs. Charlie Turnbull and their Winnipeg based family being posted to Quebec for three years. Attendees included extended family from Brandon and area.
