Full Officers Arrive as Rossburn RCMP Expands
The Rossburn RCMP Detachment nears full staffing with seven officers including new Cst. Terry Hanelin. Born in Windsor and raised in Elliot Lake, he trained in Regina and arrived in Rossburn in 1996. He describes Rossburn as welcoming and plans to stay long term with fiancee Angela expecting their first child.

School board nominees set after October nominating deadline
The Pelly Trail School Board closed nominations on Oct. 3. Oakburn Ward 8 will see Gwen Drul acclaimed as trustee while Donna Skelton challenges incumbent Edward Kreshewski in Rossburn Ward 6. In Russell area two wards field four newcomers with voting Oct. 23 at Major Pratt Collegiate and Rossburn Collegiate.

Rossburn RDCDC offers Community Works loans for local businesses
The Rossburn and District Community Development Corporation formed on June 22 with support from Manitoba Rural Development the Village of Rossburn the RM of Rossburn and Vanguard Credit Union. It provides up to 10 000 loans over five years to new or expanding village or RM businesses and mentors entrepreneurs. Applications are at the Village office and contact Keith Dixon at 859-2953.
