CSP Foods to Build 600 TPD Crushing Plant at Harrowby

CSP Foods Ltd plans a new 600 tonne per day oilseed crushing facility at Harrowby near the Manitoba Saskatchewan border. The project aims to boost local markets for canola and sunflower and create about 86 full-time jobs with $1.3 million in annual wage payroll, funded partly by a $2.579 million incentive.

No rise in gas tax in Manitoba despite price hike

Manitoba notes no change in motor gasoline and diesel vehicle taxes despite October 1 price shifts linked to Alberta crude oil adjustments. Finance Minister Brian Ransom says the 4.0 cent per litre gasoline and 4.6 cent per litre diesel rates stay, even as a new percentage of value system takes effect with limited heating fuel impacts.

Municipalities press park cooperation around Riding Mountain

Municipalities near Riding Mountain Park met with park officials on September 30 to press for a direct relationship and regional planning integration. The meeting, organized by the Union of Manitoba Municipalities, heard Parks Canada emphasis on harmony with surrounding areas and a potential new liaison committee to address damages around the park.
