Off Road Vehicle Act Exemptions Announced by Manitoba Ministers
Highways Minister Albert Driedger and Glen Cummings announce exemptions from mandatory registration and insurance for off-road vehicles used solely on property owned by the driver, for commercial fishermen, and for trappers using the tools in regulated trapping districts. Similar rules exist in Saskatchewan and Alberta as safeguards remain intact.

Rural Representation Sought by Park Council on Rural Manitoba
The Park LDG council met Sept 12 with all members except Herb LeGrange. They urged the Electoral Boundaries Commission to add a rural Manitoba member. Details of boundary hearing were given for Sept 16 at Dauphin. The council seeks a 50 percent provincial grant for asphalt work in San Clara, with $16,000 approved of a $32,000 project under Ministerial Order No 158B No 422. An extra $4,000 is needed to relocate MTS cables. Tender on page 3.

RCMP Detachments Assist In Multiple Manitoba Incidents
Local detachments including Rossburn Shoal Lake Russell and the Lizard Point Reserve assisted in investigations and actions from Sept 22 to Sept 28. Incidents include theft complaints, missing person report, seized liquor charges, impaired driving, driving while suspended and narcotics possession, motor vehicle cow accidents, and a possible break and enter at Rossman Lake.
