Rossburn honors World War II veteran Thomas Craig Mitchell with a funeral at Rossburn hall conducted by Nixogo and Mack. United Church choir assists. service includes Oh Love that Will Not Let Me Go Fight the Good Fight Abide with Me. Interment at Rossburn cemetery with Legion firing party and poppy tribute.
We express heartfelt thanks to relatives friends and neighbors for kindness and sympathy during the loss of our husband father and son. Special thanks to Rev Nixon and the Le on Mitchell and Woods Families for their support.
W. M. Neal, chairman and president of the Canadian Pacific Railway, has been promoted to Knight of Grace in the Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John. Announcement came from Ottawa.
Mr James Proutt of Elphin renews acquaintances in town this past week. Mr and Mrs Alex Andrews of Birdtail moved into their house. Mr and Mrs Chas Kombher and family visit with Mr and Mrs J Danleygo. Mrs Parmalee and Robert Wiggins moved to the west end this week. Clarke Peden of Winnipeg visits his mother Mrs Clare. Mrs Neable motored to Brandon and has returned home. Mrs James Irwin returns from Mrs T Mitchells. Mrs John Maydaniuk leaves for Winnipeg for medical treatment.
Mr and Mrs Wm Brown and Tom of Birtle visited Mr and Mrs Wm Buttler over the weekend.
Annie Javra of Russell visits at the Maydaniuks before traveling to Winnipeg. Rossbury residents extend sympathy to Mr and Mrs Fred Tlante on their infant son’s loss. The W I L meets Tuesday December 2 with a candy roll call for Deer Lodge hospital. Curling ladies convene December 23 after the Institute meeting at the Club Room.
Community event notes a large cream and green roaster brought to the hall for the Fowl Supper. Organizers request the helper to inspect the item and ensure the correct lower part is present. If missing, please verify and correct.
Mr Walter Brown returns home from Rossburn hospital. Mr and Mrs Mike Sitko relocate to Vista to partner with Frank Woycheston in a blacksmith business. Mr and Mrs Mike Beck depart for Saskatchewan to stay with Mrs Becks parents. Mrs William Stitt and Amita travel to Winnipeg on Wednesday. Mr F W Hay spends the weekend in Winnipeg.
Angusville residents report winter housing plans with Mr and Mrs Joe Semocko moving to town, and Mr and Mrs John Angus staying on the Semocko farm. Miss Gladys Semocko returns from Winnipeg en route to Edmonton. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Ralph Robinson on a November 10 birth at Sacred Heart Hospital Russell.
Mr and Mrs S Veitch attended their brother Rowett Veitchs wedding held in Elkhorn this week. Mrs Mack of Selkirk visits Rev and Mrs Mack on return from Edmonton Alta. Yvonne Carson visits Elizabeth Palmer. Mrs Mack ill with flu wished speedy recovery. Roy Rogers and Trigger film Heldorado shown at Rossburn Theatre Monday and Tuesday December 1 and 2 at 8 pm.
The Rossburn Agricultural Society holds its annual meeting in the Club Room on Wednesday December 3 1947 at 8 p m Speakers include Mr Fletcher agricultural representative and others You are invited to attend.
