The Ranchdale Red Cross Ladies served hot dogs and coffee at Finchs safe on Tuesday November 18 raising 11.43 despite bad weather. A Ukrainian Greek Catholic church bazaar in Oakburn raised funds and prizes plus a 6.40 lunch total for the Red Cross.
The Ladies of Marco formed a Ladies Aid Society for the Red Cross after a recent meeting and will appoint officers and committees to sew and knit during winter. A supper and dance on November 13 netted a tidy sum to start the new organization, which members anticipate will be successful.
Vista voters experienced a calm election day. Updates include Mr. Beck installing hydro at home and shop, Ernie McLeod visiting Besanson Alta friends, Wilton and Alex Brown traveling to Russell, Robt. Miller returning to Peace River, R. D. McLeod coming from Winnipeg, and Mrs. A. T. Chesney returning from Winnipeg visiting her daughter Mrs. Wingert. The Red Cross hosts a Whist Drive and Dance on Fri Nov 28 to raise funds for British blankets.
Core Leviston took a holiday trip to Vancouver B C Mrs J F Drozda is slowly recovering Gunner Pete Dnistiansky left for Suffield Alta to continue training Mrs 8 M Teresko and family of Brandon visited Mr and Mrs Stan Antonation Mrs J 8 Petersen and baby of Winnipeg left after a months visit at the Kashtan home The death of Mr Mike Holowetski occurred early Sunday morning He was 98 Funeral Services were held on Monday
Local residents report moves and trips from Glen Elmo. Mr Bill Wiadyka moved to a new house last week. Mike Verbowski is the Glen Elmo School janitor this winter. Several residents visited Winnipeg and Dauphin last week. Pte Mike Sotas is home on two days leave from Toronto. A recent storm slowed north road travel. Willie Kaban had an appendix operation in Shoal Lake Hospital. William Brykaluik’s son Bill broke a hand at a lumber camp in Ontario and is home recuperating.

Opening night December 9 with regular play Mondays Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The election passed with few voters due to roads and cold weather. In the Municipality the turnout was notably small as results were tallied from the polls.
Douglas C. E. Peden and J. Strong win village council seats with votes 45 and 130 respectively. W. 116 appears in results.
Canadian National Railway dining cars prepare two tons of Christmas pudding twice last season’s size to serve 24 000 portions for armed forces and civilian passengers. Dried fruits shift from the Mediterranean to Australia as the Empire product is aged and canned in Montreal at Saint Henry.
