A pile of railway ties remains as crews remove ties along the CN rail line through Rossburn. Work continues to clear the tracks, ending the train horn sounds in the community and surrounding areas.
Manitoba public school teachers led by Manitoba Teachers Society president Ken Pearce announce a Speaking Out campaign against government cutbacks. They cite a $43.5 million reduction, rising class sizes, cancelled courses, and losses of over 600 teacher positions, urging a stop to funding cuts to protect public schools.
The Rossburn Collegiate campaign aimed for 3000 in magazine sales and, with staff and student council support, surpassed last year by more than doubling. Over 4000 was raised in three weeks with 25 percent staying to fund the student council budget and scholarships for this year’s graduates.

The meeting covers an investment program, an environmental appeals board under the Sustainable Act, rising insurance costs, and 1995 claims.
