Puppet Shows Promote National Library Week at Rossburn
Grade III students at Rossburn Elementary, directed by Linda Brigden, presented puppet shows at the Regional Library on November 17 and 18. Nursery to Grade IV parents enjoyed six short plays including The Three Little Kittens and The Three Billy Goats Gruff, with JayLynn Lonsberry as announcer. Librarian Rose Stefanuk distributed balloons and candies and urged library visits.

Rossburn Girls Volleyball Qualify for Provincial A Champs
The Rossburn Collegiate Girls volleyball team defeated Hamiota three to one on November 14 to reach the Provincial A Championships in Arborg on November 25 and 26. They earlier beat Hamiota two to one in Zone 10 on November 16 and posted a 60 win 20 loss record after 80 games this season.

Village of Rossburn establishes committees at inaugural meeting
The Rossburn village council met November 10 appointing Kenneth Caldwell as Deputy Mayor and forming standing committees with two councillors each. They approved first reading of By-Law 654 for parallel parking, eyed extension of a provincial program deadline, and planned attendance at the MAUM 35th conference with expenses paid. Village funding under the Manitoba Employment Action Program was acknowledged.
