Rossburn Rural Council meeting notes November 10 1964
The Rossburn Rural Municipality council met in the council chambers on November 10 1964. Officers discussed the October financial report and approved grants to St John Ambulance Salvation Army and 4 H clubs. They set a new advertising time for the December 11 tax sale and warned against dumping on road allowances. An arbitrator was appointed for Mohyla No 1495 land transfer to Rossburn No 2358. The meeting adjourned to December 8 1964 at 1 pm.

Murphy Miller Wedding at United College Chapel
The United College Chapel hosted the wedding of Helen Winnifred Miller and James Forrest Murphy on Saturday September 5 1964 at 1 30 pm. Rev Dr G Taylor officiated with Gerald Brown of Shilo Man as soloist. The bride wore a floor length peau de soie gown with Italian guipuire lace and empire waist. Her veil was a silk illusion bouffant with a chapel train. The couple’s ceremony was attended by family including uncle Dr D L Kippen.

Gumienny Anniversary Observed At Rossburn Celebration
Mr and Mrs Gumienny of Rossburn marked their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and church blessing. Attendants included their children and grandchildren while congratulatory messages came from prominent officials and clergy. They previously traveled to Jasper and Watrous visiting relatives.

Volleyball tournament and school events in the auditorium
Last Saturday a volleyball tournament determined winners in 2 of 3 games. Russell defeated Oakburn then Oakburn beat Inglis, Inglis beat Russell, and Russell beat Inglis. Speech contestants were chosen from grades 9 to 12 with Marlaine Brown placing second and advancing to further contests. Exams begin November 19 with one more Town Hall outing on November 20. Carrie Rattlesnake placed 4th in the Pelly Trail Finals.

The Rossburn Village Council met November 17 1964 in the council chambers as Court of Revision to review the 1965 assessment roll. No appeals were heard and the roll was adopted as revised. The minutes report October financials were approved and a $10 Salvation Army grant noted. The council named Carman Brown as arbitrator for Mohyla dissolution and sought $2 000 from reserves for fire equipment. permission requested for Rossburn Lions Club sign along PTH No 45. next meeting set for December 15, 1964.
