4-H Popular in Manitoba Province Growth in Youth Programs

Lest We Forget Remembrance Displays Honor Local War Dead

A Ceilidh House Bakery display featured area residents who served in the World Wars including a photo of Dale Maxwell, currently with the Canadian Armed Forces. Remembrance Day ceremonies were held in most area communities.

Yellowhead widening and shoulder work planned

Highways and Transportation Minister Albert Driedger announced 41.2 million dollars will fund 1993 94 advances including Yellowhead Highway widening with shoulder work between Newdale and Strathclair. Other southwest projects include a new PTH 21 bridge over the Assiniboine River and paving north of PR 259 to Hamiota, with twinning west of Oak Lake. Tendering will occur this winter and some work could start in spring 1993.

Delegation Meeting Disrupts Rossburn Pelly Trail Session

A Rossburn delegation led by Keith Bartram challenged school board actions at the Pelly Trail meeting on Nov 2 with 1:15 p.m. start. Trustees Clement and Kreshewski were absent, four spectators plus a press group attended, and T. Bartram chaired in Gwen Drul’s absence. The session approved Don Robson’s request to use Pratt for a National Coaches Certification Clinic, with questions about Sunday use.
